Now for something quite different on my desk!

 I opened box today - a special delivery..... 

I knew what it was, but nothing prepared me for how excited I was going to be!

Squeeeeee!

Off to his new home

Just returned from the Post Office having sent 'Riley' home.

He is a shy and sensitive fellow and hopefully I have managed to capture that in his face.

The day I took these photos, the sun was shining brilliantly and it has 'flattened' out Riley's subtle coffee and cream colouring. 

I shall miss having him watch over me while I paint other dogs, but I am glad he is on his way.

Well, it was sunny a day or two ago :)

It isn't now though - 

Doesn't matter coz this fellow will always be sitting in a meadow 

bathed in sunlight..

Just waiting for him to fully harden 

then I can give him his final protective coating.

Meanwhile, 

I am sure it it time for a cup of tea before I reach for my next piece of slate :)

What a wet day....

All studio staff* are taking their duties seriously......

It is lashing it down outside - it is a too dark to paint by natural light 

and my 'daylight' lamp is just a bit too bright. 

Hmm, may have to resort to putting the kettle on, that usually helps :)

*I really must find a better way to stash my drying slates, 

I am sure the cats are fed up with sharing their 'nests' with them :)

what's on my desk today?

Been a busy few weeks.

Just had the nod of approval for 2 more slates, 

looks like I will continue to be busy.

Stop motion of a chocolate Labrador

My latest completed work, when you watch through, 

you will notice about 2/3rds way through 

 the dog suddenly develops a white eye patch on her left eye.

I'd stared at the dog for ages knowing that 'something was not quite right' 

when it suddenly dawned on me - the left eye was marginally too low.

So, remedial action was taken and the eye was 'lifted'. Happy now :)

All is revealed !

the gift has been given,

And the recipient was delighted (if not a little emotional)

so I am happy too :)
